About AMS Care

Bassett House

Residential Care in Wiltshire for the Elderly and those with Dementia.

Bassett House is a purpose built home, which caters for sixty-three residents with dementia and elderly people who require nursing care. The Home is divided into three units to care for those requiring dementia or frail elderly nursing care.

Crawford unit on the ground floor is devoted to caring for people who have mainly physical nursing needs.

Hyde and Wren units are for people with dementia nursing requirements.

During the day each unit has a nurse in charge assisted by a minimum of three carers. At night the home has two Registered Nurses assisted by four carers.

Our aim is to work with residents, family members, social workers and health authority staff to make the move to Bassett House as smooth and comfortable as possible.

Please feel free to contact us, for whatever reason, since it is our belief that Bassett House is the residents' Home and that it is we, the staff and management, who are the guests.

All rooms are fully furnished and have an en-suite facility comprising of a shower, toilet and wash basin. Each room and bathroom is equipped with a Nurse Call System and a smoke detector connected to the fire alarm system.

Common bathing facilities include towels, baths, showers and assisted baths all supervised by care staff.

All lounges are equipped with a sound loop system.

The dining rooms in each unit have a fully stocked kitchenette from which residents, relatives and carers can make drinks and snacks at any time.

The grounds to Bassett House extend around the Home and incorporate a large area laid to lawn, landscaped flower borders with various shrubs and rose arches. There are concrete paths leading around the property, several sections of which are wheelchair accessible.

The rear exit doors to the Home lead out onto a large patio with tables and chairs where barbecues are often held.
